| President’s Report - January 2012
I hope you all had a wonderful holyday season. May your New Year be filled with love and laughter. And may your professional life be prosperous.
We had a great meeting last month at our 2011 Naughty or NACE “Deck the Balls” Holiday Mixer at Lucky Strike at Belmar. The 1980’s were celebrated with fabulous 80’s attire, lively karaoke performances, bowling and generous donations to support Project Angel Heart.
Our new Board was introduced and we are all committed to continuing our passion for NACE in producing informative and enjoyable events. Our Board will meet next week to update our 2012 goals.
I look forward to seeing all of you next Tuesday, January 10, at Tony’s Market and Bistro on Broadway where the Rosacci culinary team has designed an educational trip throughout the market to present sustainable quality local products. A special highlight will be live Chef demonstrations.
See you there.

Catering Industry Experience (list all): Wow, this may take a little bit! I started as an intern with an Event Production Company and then was offered a full time position with them. I worked there until I had my son, Gannon when I decided to be a stay at home mom. Well, that lasted 7 months and I went stir crazy. As much as I would love to be a DIY mom all the time I had to see some adults every once in a while. I went back to work for one of the largest catering companies inAustinand that is where my Catering career hatched. I worked there and then went to work for a country club as the Event Planner/Assistant F&B Director. I was with the country club until I moved toColoradowhere I was hired on with The Food Guy. I have been here for 6 years and well the future should be exciting…
What do you enjoy most about NACE? The people
- What is your favoriteDenverrestaurant? This is a tough one… I love Fruition and FUEL Café
- What was the last book that you read? The Nazi Officer’s Wife: How One Jewish Women Survived the Holocaust by Edith H Beer and Susan Dworkin
- What do you do to relax? Get pedicures and massages
- What are 3 words that best describe you? Loyal, Passionate, and Chatty
- What is the craziest event story you have? My client’s bakery (a friend of the MOB) did not show up and I had to come up with a 3 tier wedding cake in 1 hour. Luckily I have a great bakery that was able to make one for me. I got back with a perfectly decorated cake and was informed by the bride that she was allergic to chocolate… What flavor was the cake? CHOCOLATE!! Well, luckily we had a sheet cake as well that was white cake that she could have instead. Needless to say they were thrilled they had a wedding cake and I was thrilled it stayed together in my new car! Oh, and the original “baker” was in a “car accident” on her way to the wedding aka she forgot about it!
Red or white wine? Red
- TLC, HGTV or Food Network channel? I love TLC but being married to a chef Food Network is on a lot
- What’s on your bucket list? I have not really thought about it, I should probably start huh?
- What do you enjoy doing outside of the catering world? Spending time with the kids and friends, and sleeping!
- How long have you been in this industry? Almost 12 Years
